The Talent Show- one of our best

Let me introduce our teams...

We welcome... Marshmallow and the Slumber party.

Creaky Floorboards

Gone with the wind (a solo performance)

The Murder Mystery

First up.... the Creaky floorboards sketch. This was a skit about an excercise class in which there was inappropriate wind (the creaky floorboards). It was great, lovely comic timing and some great performances.
Oooh... there goes the creaky floorboards. The lady leading the class (with the pigtails) had some nifty witticisms.
 Lovely handstand dear!
 Quite unique!
Maybe a little rest for you dear.

 And... bow! Fantastic performance.

Then it was the turn of the Slumber Party crew. With chart toppers and high energy dance moves they were a hit from the off.
 Look at them go!

 And relax!

Oh wait... no... its a breakdancing doorknob! Check out his moves!

 So versatile!

Quick pillow fight and we are done (apparently this was an insight into 'what girls do at sleepovers'- good luck parents!)!

Third came a dramatic piece which was frankly the funniest murder mystery I have ever watched. Ok, so the plot was thin and the narrative was a little patchy but the actors found it so funny that we could not help but laugh until we cried.

Ace!
This is the tragic demise of an unwary husband- the hairbrush is a knife (suspend the disbelief people and engage with the dramatic conceit)

Oh no, he is dead! I wonder who did it?
Cue the arrival of a detective on his first day on the job...

'Oh madam someone murdered your husband. Don't worry it'll be fine!' - clearly not a seasoned officer!

Who did it? Not me... oh ok!

Not sure where the body went but this surely hints at motive to our detective- apparently not!

Luckily the 'dead man' gave us a running commentary on the events unfolding- breaking the fourth wall nicely.
Oh the evidence is back....who did it I wonder?
 Well he knows!
He is keen to share it with the audience.......

Oh, it seems it was the lady in pink!(Fancy that!)

Then we had a lovely story written from the perspective of a horse. It was written from scratch in the 1 hour of rehearsal time and was very moving. It was the outright winner and just shows what an amazing amount of talent we have at Harewood. Great work!

An amazing night- the audience loved it and we celebrated with sweets- hmm think sleep is a long way off!

  1. X Factor eat your heart out! I'm not sure what is worse potholing or performing a routine in front of your mates? Do we get an encore at celebration assembly. See you all later today.
(Dare say it will be Mr. Sturgess's turn for the night feed tonight!)
